The Legal Genealogist Comes to NERGC! Welcome to Providence, Judy Russell!

The Legal Genealogist Judy G. Russell is a genealogist with a law degree. She writes, teaches and lectures on a wide variety of genealogical topics, ranging from using court records in family history to understanding DNA testing. A Colorado native with roots deep in the American south on her mother’s side and entirely in Germany on her father’s side, she is a member of the Association of Professional Genealogists, the National Genealogical Society and numerous state and regional genealogical societies. She has written for the National Genealogical Society Quarterly and National Genealogical Society Magazine, among other publications. On the faculty of the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, the Institute for Genealogy and Historical Research in Alabama, and the Genealogical Research Institute of Pittsburgh, she is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Board for Certification of Genealogists, from which she holds credentials as a Certified Genealogist℠ and Certified Genealogical Lec...

A reminder that “Exploring New Paths to Your Roots is being held in two hotels across the street from one another.  The Exhibit Hall and many lectures are at the Sheraton.   However, the opening session, one large lecture room, and the luncheons and banquets are at the Marriott.  PDF files of the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday daily “one-sheet” schedules, and hotel floor plans are now on the NERGC web page . Thursday, April 7th - Daily Schedule Friday, April 8th - Daily Schedule Saturday, April 9th - Daily Schedule Click the daily schedule links above or enter the NERGC 2011 site, and then scroll down to find the “buttons” that link to the files.  After you download and print out the files, you can see which sessions are scheduled for which rooms, and then look at the floorplans to see where the rooms are located.  All those registered for the conference by March 31 should have received an e-mail from NERGC providing links to the syllabus.  If...
